How does the process work?
When you book in for an initial consultation your dermatologist will review your medical history and go through the history of your skin condition and concerns with you. They will then examine your skin and determine what is going on and why. This will allow for advice to be provided on the various treatment options or actions that can be taken to help with your condition.
In some instances we may need to take blood or skin samples for further assessment of your condition. If this is the case your dermatologist will outline the process in your consultation and keep you fully informed of the process for reviewing and examining your results with you.
How long does the consultation take and will I need to come back?
Your initial consultation will take 20-30 minutes, which will give your dermatologist plenty of time to go through your medical history, conduct a full skin examination and advise on treatment options.
In some instances, your treatment plan may require you to come back to the clinic, for example if we need to discuss test results or a follow up is required to assess how your treatment is working. Your dermatologist will provide full detail on any follow up requirements during your initial consultation.
How experienced is the RENA team?
Our team is led by Dr. David Rutkowski, a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist with a strong academic and clinical background. David is supported by a team of Consultant Dermatologists who are all committed to providing best-in-class care tailored to each patient's needs.
Unlike many national operators, we do not utilise nurses or GPs in the assessment or treatment of dermatological conditions, believing the skin to be a highly complex organ that should be assessed and treated by a highly trained specialist. Before undergoing any treatment with any provider you should ask about the experience and credentials of the healthcare professional undertaking the treatment.
David is an expert in his field and is supported by an experienced team; we are regulated by the CQC and deliver our services from a custom built, best-in-class clinic. We would be delighted to welcome you to show you around.
